Sand Creek Artwalk Youth Led Mural
Terms and Conditions for Request for Proposal and Submission Process for the Mural:
- Eligibility: This Request for Proposal is open to all Colorado artists, artist teams, and creative professionals who meet the eligibility criteria as specified in the RFP.
- Submission Process: Interested individuals or teams should submit a complete proposal package by the submission deadline specified in the RFP. Proposals should be submitted electronically via artcall.org
- Proposal Requirements: All proposals must include the following items:
- A portfolio of previous work.
A 1000 character or less statement of interest in the project. - Three referrals
A 1000 character or less statement of experience with youth and/or community or, if you have not had the opportunity to work with youth and/or community in the past, how you expect to interact with and value youth and community voice in this project.
A sketch of and/or a brief description of the proposed mural.
A brief description of how the artist(s) anticipate working within the given timeframe.
A statement acknowledging the $30,000 maximum budget for this project.
A list of any specialized equipment or knowledge required for installation.
- Evaluation Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Artistic merit and creativity.
Alignment with the articulated themes found in the RFP.
Feasibility and timeline.
Budget and cost-effectiveness.
Experience working with youth and community.
- Selection Process: Proposals will be reviewed by the be well Youth Council. The top four proposals will be invited to submit a detailed mockup of their proposed mural. Artist will be given a $450 honorarium for the completion of the mockup. The Youth Council will review the mockups and select the final artist/team to create the mural.
- Ownership and Copyright:
Artist represents and warrants to the SCRGP, that Artist possesses the exclusive right to negotiate copyrights with respect to the Work. Artist further represents and warrants to the City that the Work is solely the result of the Artist’s efforts and is the creator of the Work, that the Work is unique and original and does not infringe upon any known copyright, and that the Work is free and clear of any liens or claims from any source whatsoever.
- Artist grants to the SCRGP the right to make visual impressions of the Work through photography, digital images, or otherwise, and to utilize such visual impressions in brochures, documents, or other publications that the SCRGP may elect to create or commission regarding SCRGP programming, or the Work.
- Budget and Payment: This project is budgeted between $25,000 to $30,000. Payment will be made in installments, with a portion paid upon completion of specific milestones.
- Timeline: The timeline for the project will be specified in the RFP, including the deadline for proposal submission, selection of finalists, mockup submission, and completion of the mural.
- Changes and Cancellation: The sponsoring organization reserves the right to cancel or modify the project at any time. The selected artist/team will be notified immediately in the event of any changes to the project.
- Confidentiality: All proposals will be kept confidential and will only be shared with the selection committee and relevant stakeholders.
